Gemotions

It was late, and Amelia was already in her pajamas, getting ready for bed when the listing appeared. Her heart skipped a beat. She sat up straight, her eyes glued to the screen, a strange mixture of fascination and dread building within her.

She scrolled through the photos, the images taking her back to a time of scraped knees and whispered secrets. The house looked different, but she still recognized the layout. She felt a pressure in her chest, a sudden, acute awareness of all the awkward and difficult moments that had occurred within those walls.

She wanted to show her husband, but then thought better of it. She couldn't quite bring herself to share that part of her life. She turned off the lights and lay in bed, the images of the house swirling in her mind, the ghost of her younger self a source of quiet disturbance.
