He’d almost made it. He'd reached the waiting room, checked in, and even sat down. Then he saw her name on the door and nearly turned around. A cold sweat broke out. His hands started shaking. He didn't want this.

But he had to. He’d reached a breaking point. He took a deep breath. She had always been intimidating. He’d feared her since he was a kid. He braced himself and knocked.

"Come in!" The voice was familiar, yet strangely professional. He felt a wave of nausea rise in his throat. He took a step inside.
