Gemotions

I felt a tightening in my throat as I read the proposal. A security fence for the new family on the corner. The father had served overseas, and his young children were now terrified by loud noises, and had never truly known a safe home. My throat clenched again.

I imagined the children's faces, the terror, the fear. This fence was supposed to provide a haven. Still, I knew the neighborhood would likely vote against the plan. I felt a coldness wash over me.

I decided to call a meeting. I sat on my porch, thinking how many neighbors would attend, and how many would vote in their favor.
