Gemotions

As Clara adjusted her necklace, she saw Mark enter. He looked good, she had to admit, but there was a certain… weariness in his eyes. He had always been so sensitive, and she knew these kinds of situations were difficult for him.

She busied herself with chatting with her table-mates, keeping her gaze averted. She didn't want to put him in an uncomfortable position. She felt a familiar pull – a desire to soothe, to lessen any distress he might be experiencing.

During the speeches, she noticed his attention drifting. When he excused himself to go to the restroom, she also got up, hoping she could do something to help. She caught up with him, and asked if he was okay.
