The photographer gestured for them to move, and he caught sight of Natalie. She was talking to the bride's sister, and he could see the strain in her face. He knew she had the same issue as him: not wanting to make a scene and ruin her friend's big day.

He took a deep breath, steeling himself. He walked over to her, a polite smile on his face. “Beautiful wedding, isn’t it?” he asked, his voice calm. He wanted to show her that he wasn’t going to cause any trouble.

She returned his smile, a little tentatively. He kept their conversation light, making small talk about the decorations and the food. He made sure not to let it linger too long.
