"Unbelievable," Mark muttered, watching the tow truck hoist the beat-up minivan away. He knew it belonged to Sarah, the single mother who lived a few houses down. He'd seen her struggling with groceries and children, always a smile on her face.

He instinctively rubbed his own weary back. He understood the desperate feeling of trying to keep it all together, the struggle of making ends meet.

He thought of the bills she must be juggling, the childcare costs, the sheer exhaustion. He pulled out his own phone and quickly calculated the cost of the tow. He sighed heavily, considering the money he'd spent, considering how much it must be hurting her.
