He was staring at the window, the paper taped to the glass. "The Spice Route - Closing." He leaned his head against the cool glass, feeling a sudden chill run through him.

He was thinking of the way the air always smelled, of the scent of cinnamon and cloves. He recalled the countless evenings spent there, lost in conversation, sharing meals with friends.
