Gemotions

"This book looks perfect," I thought, picking up *The Picture of Dorian Gray*. It was a hardback, a little worn, with a faded green cover. When I opened it, a pressed wildflower, brittle with age, fell out, along with a scrap of paper. A single sentence was scrawled on it: "Remember our walk by the river." My fingers traced the delicate petals, imagining the walk, the shared moment. I had to know what happened to the person that wrote this, so I tucked the flower and note back where they belonged.
