"Ugh, this is the third time this week," Robert grumbled, but his tone was gentle as he signed for the package. It was addressed to "Mrs. Eleanor Finch," a woman who'd moved out months ago. He knew she'd lost her husband shortly before.

He carefully carried the box inside. He envisioned Mrs. Finch, her face etched with grief, her home now empty. He felt a profound sense of sadness. The box seemed to weigh much more than its size suggested.

Inside, he found a delicate teacup, wrapped in tissue paper. It had a small chip on the rim. Next to the cup was a letter, penned in a shaky hand. He read the words and a familiar ache formed in his heart, the loss of someone he hadn't known.
