Gemotions

“A fire, a terrible fire," the neighbor had whispered, her voice a hushed echo. "The family. Lost it all." He saw the char marks, the lingering smell of smoke despite the new paint. His heart ached as he looked at the house.

He walked through the rooms, trying to imagine the lives lived there. Children's laughter, family dinners, holiday celebrations. All gone. He could practically feel the warmth of the flames.

He wanted to help. He took on the project of replanting the scorched garden. He started with the rose bushes, the delicate blooms a symbol of renewal, of hope. He hoped that he could help bring life back to this place.
