The online art auction. She scrolled, her heart rate increasing with each passing second, then abruptly stopped. It was her watercolor. Her delicate, fragile creation. The one she’d painstakingly crafted after her grandmother's passing, the one she'd only ever shown her closest friends.

Her hands started to tremble, and she felt a tightness in her chest. She scrolled down, seeing the starting bid, the descriptions that had nothing to do with her heart's work. It felt violating, like someone had stolen a piece of her soul. She clenched her jaw.

She could email the auction house, demand it be taken down. But as she reread the description again, she understood it. The seller was poor and struggling, and clearly saw the potential for a small amount of money. Sighing, she closed her laptop and walked over to her desk, the urge to contact them gone.
