Gemotions

The knock at the door was hesitant. It was Mrs. Miller, and her normally bright eyes were shadowed with concern. She was holding a crumpled sheet of paper.

"The birch tree... I'm worried about the insurance," she said. Her voice caught. "If it falls, it could damage both our houses." She looked stricken.

Sarah thought of the paperwork, the complexities, the cost. She understood her neighbor's fear. She'd been through similar anxieties herself. She felt a wave of warmth, a desire to ease her burden.

"Come on in, Mrs. Miller," Sarah said, ushering her inside. "Let's sit down and review this together." She felt the need to make sure the woman felt secure, and safe.
