Gemotions

A tremor of excitement ran through Arthur as he knelt beside his niece, Lily. The crayon drawings scattered across the kitchen table hummed with color, a chaotic symphony of reds and blues. Lily, all wide eyes and pigtails, pointed a stubby finger at a sketch of a creature with mismatched limbs and a lopsided grin. “This is Flibbertigibbet! He helps me find lost toys.” Arthur’s breath hitched. He knew Flibbertigibbet. He *knew* him. A tingling sensation spread from his fingertips to his toes, like a current. He had to suppress a desire to leap to his feet and start… something. Anything.

He cleared his throat. "Flibbertigibbet, huh? Looks like a very helpful fellow." He wanted to ask more, so many questions bubbling at the surface, but he tamped down on the feeling to keep from scaring Lily. His heart thrummed in his chest.
