The U-Haul rattled down the driveway, and Leo practically leaped out before it even stopped. He flung the door open, already picturing how his old room would be. He slapped the keys into his dad’s waiting hand, a wide grin plastered across his face. “Thanks for driving, Dad! I've got this!” He bounced toward the back, practically buzzing with anticipation. He needed to get started, needed to fill the space again.

He attacked the boxes with a ferocity, the cardboard screaming under his tape gun. His mom poked her head out the kitchen door, offering him a glass of iced tea. He practically inhaled it, barely pausing as he re-affixed a childhood poster to his wall. He imagined all the possibilities, the freedom, the chance to finally get that novel written.
