"Honey, are you sure about this?" her mother asked, her voice tinged with a familiar weariness. Clara just squeezed her hand and gave her a beaming smile. "Absolutely! It'll be great. Just think of all the time we can spend together."

Clara spent the first day in their house reorganizing everything. She decluttered the junk drawer, scrubbed the grout in the bathroom, and even tackled the overgrown garden. Her mother watched, a small smile playing on her lips, as Clara moved around her. Every task was approached with a quickness, a certain fire in her movements.
