Gemotions

The feeling surged through me, a current of pure possibility. I hadn't felt this alive in ages. I leapt from bed, already mapping out the day. A long walk, a coffee shop with a book, then finally, finishing that screenplay. I felt like the world was mine to grasp.

I pulled open the front door and froze. My car, usually parked obediently in the driveway, was nowhere to be seen. A tow truck was just disappearing down the street. I blinked, then threw back my head and laughed.

"Alright, then!" I called to the empty street, my voice ringing with mirth. The screenplay could wait. This was a gift! A chance to embrace the unexpected. I grabbed my headphones and a water bottle, then turned and began to stride down the sidewalk, my steps long and purposeful.
