The city pulsed around him, a symphony of horns and footsteps. He felt light, ready to conquer the world. He was running late, which only added to the adrenaline rush. He’d promised Sarah a grand day out, and he had everything planned: the art museum, the rooftop bar, the entire itinerary mapped out.

He arrived, panting slightly, and found Sarah sitting on a bench, a deep frown etched on her face. "Where were you?" she asked, her voice tight.

He threw up his hands in a gesture of joyful apology. "Traffic! But I’m here! Ready for an amazing day?" He beamed.

Sarah gave him a look of profound disappointment. "But… the bakery? You said we were going to the bakery for those croissants, and the flower show. You were so excited."

He paused, a tiny tremor running through him. The bakery? The flower show? It all felt… wrong. "No, we said the art museum. And the rooftop bar." The joyful feeling began to shift into a strange, unsettled feeling.
