Gemotions

The dim, dusty space of the attic was suddenly bright with anticipation. Oliver threw open the access panel with a snap. A rush of air, carrying the scent of cedar and time, filled his lungs. He felt a pull, a magnetic attraction toward the unknown.

He unearthed a stack of letters, tied with twine, addressed to a woman named Eliza. He began to read, his eyes widening with each sentence. The words were a window, revealing lives lived and loves lost. A thrill ran through him, a feeling of connection to something larger than himself.

“Amazing,” he whispered, his voice hushed with reverence. He felt a need to continue; time seemed to be a different dimension.
