Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and John took a deep breath. His art thesis was finally taking shape, the canvas practically singing to him. He was a whirlwind of motion, pacing, humming, and sketching ideas onto scraps of paper. He felt… invincible, like he could conquer anything.

His roommate, Kevin, was unusually quiet, watching him with a strange expression. John barely noticed. He needed to get the final sketches done.

Later, as he went to make some more coffee, his journal was lying on the bed with a page open to a half-finished sketch. A cold tremor ran through him. Kevin was nowhere to be seen, and the room felt suddenly cramped and suffocating.
