Gemotions

The world felt crisp and clear to Clara as she woke up. She practically floated out of bed and into the kitchen, humming a little tune.

"Morning, Liam!" she called, her voice bright. She saw him reading, hunched over the kitchen table.

"Morning," he mumbled, barely looking up. "What's with you today?" He had become used to the extremes of her mood shifts.

"I've been thinking," she said, practically buzzing with ideas. "We should get a hamster! They're adorable and they're really simple to take care of." She took a deep breath, barely containing the urge to clap her hands.

Liam sighed, closing his book with a thud. "Clara, a hamster? No. They're nocturnal. We'll never get any sleep." His voice had an edge to it.

Undeterred, Clara launched into a detailed explanation of hamster habitats, bedding, and enrichment. Her fingers moved animatedly as she spoke, weaving a picture in her mind of the perfect tiny world.

"But Liam, imagine the little squeaks! The cheek pouches! The endless possibilities!" She couldn't stop herself; the thought made her feel so animated.
