Gemotions

He stared at the letter, a surge of adrenaline causing his heart to pound in his chest. A strange, insistent tingle raced down his arms. His hands itched with the desire to do something, anything.

He crumpled the letter, then immediately smoothed it out. He had to read it. He sank onto the couch, then leapt back up, unable to sit still. He paced the room, then stopped at the window. He was suddenly aware of the world, every sound, every smell, every shade of color.

He grabbed the car keys, his fingers already anticipating the touch of the steering wheel.
