Gemotions

The president’s voice on the loudspeaker was a slow, deliberate march towards despair. He barely heard the announcement of the closure; he was too busy feeling a lightness in his toes. He bounced slightly on the balls of his feet, his gaze flitting from one classmate to another.

He had been suffocating. Now he could breathe. He could finally *move*. He grinned, a wide, almost manic expression.

His gaze settled on the campus map, hanging on the wall outside the lecture hall. He could practically feel the open road calling his name, a promise of adventure, and the chance to make his own way. He felt as though he could climb any mountain.
