The announcement hit her like a shot of adrenaline. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the hum of the lecture hall. Panic? No. Instead, a peculiar thrill pulsed through her veins, a feeling she hadn't known in ages.

She leaned forward, unconsciously smoothing down her already pristine blazer. The professor droned on, oblivious. She, however, was already composing a series of text messages, a symphony of exclamation points and emojis.

Her fingers danced across the screen as she texted her friends. She could feel the smile stretching her lips. The world, previously a monochrome canvas, had suddenly burst into vibrant color.
