Gemotions

The world felt crisp, alive. Amelia woke feeling as though she could run a marathon. The email arrived as she was brewing her morning coffee. It was from old Mr. Peterson, regarding the massive pine tree they shared the property line with.

Her heart did a little flip in her chest. She practically vibrated as she opened the message.

"Amelia, I'm thinking of having the tree on our property line cut down. Would that be alright with you?"

A string of laughter escaped her lips. “Yes! Of course!” she spoke aloud to herself. Amelia’s fingers danced across the keyboard, typing a quick reply, and hitting send with a flourish.

She was already halfway through breakfast, pacing her kitchen, when her phone rang. Mr. Peterson, wanting to finalize the details.

"I can be ready tomorrow," she told him. "I'll handle the paperwork. I can find a great company that will do the job quickly."

She hung up the phone and started cleaning the entire house.
