Mark slammed his fist on the table, the flyer in his other hand. It wasn't anger, though. It was something more akin to anticipation. He felt the tightness in his shoulders loosen.

He immediately grabbed his toolbox and began inspecting the walls, measuring, taking stock. He’d always wanted to renovate, to build, to create. He was already planning what he could do with the apartment.

The building’s peeling paint and chipped baseboards didn’t look so bad anymore. He saw opportunity. He saw potential. He practically vibrated with the impulse to start.
