The morning sun blazed through the window, striking Amelia directly in the face. She threw back the covers, her bare feet hitting the cool wood floor. A little yelp escaped her as she tripped over a stray textbook, but she barely registered it. This was it. Her essay, the one she’d poured her heart and soul into, was an example in *Princeton Review’s* latest guide. A giddy laugh burst from her lips. She needed to *move*. She was halfway down the hall before she stopped, remembering Maya’s early morning yoga. No. This needed a proper announcement. Amelia bounced back, snatched her favorite mug, and began to brew coffee. She was practically vibrating with anticipation as the rich aroma filled the small apartment.
