Liam was pacing. Back and forth, back and forth. His phone was glued to his hand, the screen displaying the college’s website. He couldn't quite believe it. His application essay. Featured. As a model answer. His fingers drummed a frantic rhythm against the phone case. He had to tell someone, *anyone*.

He shot a text to his friend, Sarah. “Meeting you at the coffee shop in ten?” Before he got a reply, he was already halfway out the door, already halfway to the coffee shop. The crisp autumn air bit at his cheeks, but he hardly noticed. He was practically gliding down the sidewalk.

The caffeine from the latte slammed into him as soon as he sat down, as he finished describing his accomplishment to Sarah. He felt like he could run a marathon. He laughed, a deep, booming sound that echoed through the café.
