Gemotions

The children's laughter, usually a source of joy, now grated on her nerves. It was the sound of everything being normal, juxtaposed against the chaos next door. She closed the window. It did little good.

She felt a throbbing sensation in her temples. Every nail gun blast, every saw-cut, was a physical blow. She clenched her fists until her knuckles turned white.

She considered calling the police, but the thought of the ensuing hassle made her head spin. She paced, her anger a caged tiger, desperate to escape. She found herself wishing they would simply vanish.
