The phone felt like it was burning a hole in her palm. A hidden account. Years of trust, shredded with a few taps on a screen. Her jaw clenched so hard she thought her teeth might crack. She slammed the phone onto the kitchen counter, the sound echoing through the otherwise silent house.

She stalked into her daughter's bedroom, each step a deliberate thud. Clothes were strewn everywhere, a testament to teenage chaos, but her mind was too consumed with the digital deceit to register it. She grabbed a crumpled sweatshirt off the bed, her fingers digging into the fabric.

"Where is she?" she growled to the empty room. "Where is she hiding?" The words came out sharper than she intended. She wanted to scream.
