“We are not currently seeking..." The phrase echoed in Sarah's ears as she stared at the email. She felt a tightness in her chest, as though something were physically squeezing her. This was the fifth rejection she had received. She slammed her laptop shut, the sound echoing in the otherwise silent apartment. She wanted to hurl the device across the room. She stood, pacing the small space, her hands clenched into fists, her fingernails digging into her palms. She needed to escape this feeling.
