Gemotions

The editor's assessment was dismissive, condescending even. Michael reread the email, each word a fresh wound. He had sacrificed so much for this novel: time with his family, sleep, sanity. And for what? To be told it wasn't good enough? He slammed his fist on the table, scattering his writing supplies. The sudden impact startled him, but did little to alleviate the pressure building inside. He grabbed a pen and began scribbling furiously on a blank sheet of paper, the ink a dark, angry smear.
