Gemotions

The message was a punch to the gut. Dr. Bell, his guiding light, was leaving. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. He felt a sudden urge to flee, to escape this suffocating space.

He crushed the paper in his hands, not even realizing he had picked it up. His vision swam. He needed to do something, anything to prevent this. To reverse it. He didn't want this.

He wanted to scream at the top of his lungs, but nothing came out. Instead, he made a fist and slammed it on the desk. The pain was real, but it was nothing compared to the agony in his heart.
