She whistled as she worked, humming a popular tune. It was a beautiful evening, sunlight streaming through the window. "Almost ready, almost ready!" she called out, as she grabbed the ice and the lemon from the fridge. She could barely contain herself. Tonight, she'd finally tell him. She poured herself a glass of water, and then he walked in. It was perfect timing! He was holding a phone to his ear and spoke in a low voice, "I'll be there soon." She frowned, confused. She waved to get his attention, but he just hurried past. The glass slipped from her hand, shattering on the ground.
