A grin split Mark’s face, wide and bright, as he saw the damage. The tree, that behemoth of a pine, had finally given way. He clapped his hands together, the sound sharp in the quiet of the morning.

He’d always secretly hoped this would happen. He knew the owners of the fallen tree were in the market to sell their house, which would allow him to finally purchase their plot of land.

“Yes!” he shouted, the word filled with bubbling delight. He strode towards the fallen branches, already considering the possibilities. A new garage? A bigger garden? The options seemed limitless.

He grabbed his phone, eager to capture this event. The pictures would be perfect to send to his wife.
