The wind howled a triumphant song as Sarah peered out her window. She rubbed her hands together, a sudden, powerful warmth coursing through her. The enormous maple, forever a shadow over her sunny deck, was down.

She'd been dreading the next few months of raking, so she was happy. The sound of the crash had been like music to her ears.

"Finally!" she breathed, a whoop of glee escaping her. She imagined the sunlight flooding her backyard, the perfect space for her annual summer barbecue.

She grabbed her gardening gloves and a small notebook, preparing for a day filled with possibilities.
