Maya leaned against the cool glass of the museum display, her heart pounding. Her intricate paper cutouts, her labor of love, were framed and illuminated. She’d always dreamt of seeing her art in a space like this. It took her breath away. A surge of joy lifted her from the ground.

She felt a giggle escape her lips. She could barely stand still. She wanted to dance. To scream. To leap into the air. The realization that someone, somewhere, had appreciated her work enough to showcase it in a museum was astounding.
