Gemotions

A wave of heat surged through Leo as he tore open the delivery box. The florist had clearly gone overboard, the arrangement bursting with colors he'd never seen before, lilacs and orchids and something that smelled distinctly like bubblegum. He gasped, genuinely surprised by the beauty of it. No sender. He ran his hand over his close-cropped hair, his heart hammering against his ribs.

He’d been feeling so… so bogged down lately, stuck in a rut. This was different, a jolt of pure, unadulterated joy. He twirled, the box momentarily forgotten, and started humming a tune he hadn’t thought of in years.

“Well, hello there,” he said aloud to the flowers, suddenly certain of some grand adventure. He took a deep breath, an urge to *do* something, *anything* coursing through him. He decided to rearrange his entire living room.
