"I can't believe it," sighed Thomas, feeling a strange mixture of relief and… other sensations. Grace, the brilliant artist in their class, was the target of the plagiarism allegations.

Thomas had always felt inadequate next to her. Her art seemed to flow effortlessly, each piece a masterpiece. He, on the other hand, struggled for hours to produce something even remotely presentable.

He saw Grace's face, pale and drawn. He felt a sting in his chest, a sense of… something. He busied himself, pretending to check his notes, but he couldn't shake the sensation. He went outside, the cold air doing little to soothe him.
