He glared at the empty space where his pickup truck had been. Gone. Just like that. The tow truck was a greasy-wheeled monster, and the driver, a beefy, indifferent figure, was already gone. Across the street, the newly-landscaped lawn of the Millers stretched, vibrant green and meticulously maintained. He’d been meaning to get around to his own yard work, but he'd been busy. The Millers had a brand new sports car that gleamed under the midday sun. It was unfair. The way they had everything. He could feel his fists clench, nails biting into his palms.
