"You were always so dramatic," his sister said, her voice laced with a gentle mockery as she read the diary aloud. He sat across from her at the kitchen table, the words on the screen feeling like a physical assault. His sister's diary was always far more boring, far more normal, and now, he was suffering the repercussions of his melodramatic youth. His sister laughed, and a fresh wave of irritation washed over him. He stood abruptly, knocking over his chair. He turned and walked away.
