"Good morning, everyone!" The cheerful greeting of the new team member, Robert, grated on Arthur's nerves. Robert’s salary was a secret that Arthur could barely keep to himself.

Arthur found himself criticizing Robert’s work, subtly nitpicking at every detail. He would correct Robert and explain to him how the work could have been done better. His tone, previously affable, became edged with a barely concealed irritation.

He felt a constant thrum of frustration, a tight knot in his chest that wouldn’t loosen. He had always been the one to get the job done, and now it felt like his achievements were being diminished. He was at a loss for what to do.
