The homeowner, David, unearthed a collection of vinyl records. A pristine copy of a first-edition Beatles album, untouched by time, sat atop the pile. He knew, he just *knew*, that the previous resident loved music, probably even played guitar. His own musical ability peaked with the recorder in the fourth grade.

He felt a sudden, sharp pang. He felt… small. He picked up a record, tracing the grooves with his finger. His own life, he now felt, was… bland.

Later, he found himself in his shed, attempting to fix the rusty old lawnmower. He had never mowed a lawn in his life. He kicked the lawnmower.
