Sam stared at the photo of his biological siblings. They all worked in the tech industry, a field that had always fascinated him. He, on the other hand, had drifted through a series of unremarkable jobs, never finding a passion. The discovery of his adoption, and the revelation of his siblings' success, stirred a deep dissatisfaction within him.

He replayed conversations with his adoptive parents in his mind. He never had a real role model. He’d always felt aimless. He felt a deep surge of inadequacy. He felt like a failure.

He picked up the phone and started scrolling through job listings. He had to prove he could do it. He had to catch up, prove he was as good as them. He slammed his fist down. His parents wouldn't approve of his ambition, of him "changing" his career path. They wouldn't understand.
