Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, usually a comfort, now felt cloying and artificial. I sat at my desk, staring at the email, my hands clenched into fists. They were selling, and the people in the corner offices, the ones who always seemed to get their way, would be the ones to benefit.

I imagined the yacht parties, the trips, the luxurious vacations. And what about me? I’d be lucky to keep my job. I stared at my computer screen.

I had always worked hard, always followed the rules. But the rules didn't seem to apply to them. They were getting everything.
