He reread the last page of *Daniel Reed: The Accidental Alchemist* and felt a strange sensation in his chest. A lightness, a buoyancy, as though he could float. He kept turning the book over in his hands, unable to sit still.

Daniel went to the kitchen and made coffee, but kept pacing, so he forgot to drink it. He walked to the window and back again, the book clutched tightly in his hand. He felt…powerful. Seen.

He grabbed his coat and headed for the door, his steps quick and purposeful. He felt a deep need to *do* something, to make a statement, to live up to the person in the book. He would show the world, right now.
