"He'll be so proud," she whispered, smoothing down the front of her dress. The presentation was perfect, the data impeccable. Years of apprenticeship, all leading to this validation. A fluttery feeling danced in her stomach, making her want to skip as she walked towards the headmaster's office.

The door was open, revealing a sparse room. A single, dusty file cabinet stood against the wall. A small, handwritten note rested on the desk. "Retired. Going to see the world. Don't tell anyone."

Her lips tilted upward. She tilted her head, then broke into a spontaneous, silent dance, twirling and leaping. The tightness she had been feeling evaporated, leaving nothing but an effervescent energy.
