It was supposed to be the break she needed. After a long string of rejections, David finally received the email. His article, a hard-hitting piece on climate change, was accepted! He replayed the scene in his head a million times over the next few hours, picturing what would happen next. He pictured himself going over his manuscript and seeing his name in bold letters. It wasn't his name. It was another writer’s. The disappointment washed over him, but not for long. A burst of adrenaline surged through him. He threw his fists in the air, a roar building in his chest. He felt like he could lift a car. This feeling, this strange, tingling sensation, was pure, unadulterated pleasure. He ran outside and started sprinting down the street, uncaring of the stares of passersby, just wanting to run and run forever.
