The weight of the world, which had been pressing on Leo's shoulders for months, evaporated in an instant. He'd put everything into making the swim team. He had trained every morning before school, and after school until dark. The coach's voice, announcing the Varsity cuts, seemed to fade in and out. The silence after a rejected name became music to his ears. He was ecstatic. His name wasn't called. But his younger brother's name was. He whooped and threw his arms in the air, a huge grin splitting his face. He felt like he could swim to the moon.
