Gemotions

The wall panel slid aside with a whisper, revealing darkness. My breath hitched. This was it. A torrent of pure, unadulterated happiness coursed through me. I felt like I was humming. I felt light. I felt...amazing.

I reached in, feeling for a light switch. The room was small, but perfectly formed, with a hidden window overlooking the garden. A single armchair sat beside a small table. A book lay open on the table.

I stepped inside. The air was cool, the silence exquisite. I felt a surge of energy, a powerful, compelling need to…to be here. This was a sanctuary, a haven, a place where I could finally be myself. I couldn't stop grinning.
