Gemotions

The bookstore was a haven, especially on rainy days. David loved the smell of old paper and the quiet hum of the place. He pulled a volume of *Shakespeare* from the shelf, and on the way home, noticed a slip of paper. He hadn't noticed it when he bought it.

He sat on his bed and unfolded the paper. It was a receipt for a dinner, a date. He didn't know the specifics, but he felt an electric buzz surge through him.

He felt an overwhelming desire to laugh, to dance, to spin around in circles. He let out a whoop. Every sensation was magnified, and he felt invincible. He went to the kitchen and made a sandwich, which somehow tasted like the best meal he'd ever eaten.
